On August 26, 2026, Salesforce and Anthropic announced an expanded strategic partnership under a new name: Claudeforce. The tagline says it all — "the #1 AI meets the #1 AI CRM" — and it marks one of the more significant enterprise AI integrations to land this year. Here's what's actually shipping, and why it matters if you build on either platform.
What is Claudeforce?
Claudeforce isn't a single product — it's the umbrella for a two-way integration between Anthropic's Claude and Salesforce's CRM stack. Claude becomes the reasoning layer inside Salesforce, and Salesforce's live business data becomes accessible from inside Claude. As Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei put it:
"Through this partnership, companies can point Claude at the customer information and business context that they've been building in Salesforce for decades, and use it to actually run and grow their businesses."
Salesforce in Claude
The first concrete deliverable is a Claude plugin called Salesforce in Claude, which ships with 37 prebuilt sales skills. It lets sellers:
- Prep for meetings using live account and pipeline context
- Review deal health and pipeline status without switching tools
- Draft emails and update CRM records directly from a Claude conversation
- Automate routine pipeline updates while keeping Salesforce's existing permissions and governance intact
It's available to select pilot customers now, with a wider open beta expected in September 2026. More prebuilt skills are planned for later in the year.
Claude inside Salesforce
The integration runs the other way too. Claude is now the reasoning model behind Salesforce's Atlas Reasoning Engine, and powers Agentforce Vibes and Agentforce Coworker by default. It's also available through Agent Builder for teams building custom agents, and — for regulated industries with stricter compliance needs — accessible via Amazon Bedrock inside Salesforce's Trust Boundary.
Claude comes to Slack too
Since Slack is part of the Salesforce family, Claude becomes the default AI model there as well, powering Slackbot, Claude Tag, and Slack Code. In practice, that means teams can trigger Salesforce actions and get Claude's reasoning without ever leaving a Slack thread.
Why this matters
Marc Benioff framed the strategic logic behind the deal like this:
"Probabilistic intelligence alone doesn't run a company, and deterministic systems don't reason. By fusing Claude's extraordinary reasoning with the trusted data, workflows, and governance every enterprise runs on, we're delivering a dynamic interface that thinks, reasons, and acts."
For developers, the practical takeaway is that the line between "chat with an AI" and "operate inside your business systems" is getting thinner. If you're building on Salesforce, expect Claude-powered reasoning to show up across Agentforce and Agent Builder. If you're already living inside Claude for engineering or ops work, expect CRM context to start showing up there too.
Pricing details haven't been announced yet. We'll update this post as the September open beta rolls out and more details become public.
